Children from years 3 and 4 spent a brilliant few days at Walesby in April, taking part in lots of adventurous and exciting activities. Archery was a favourite, the climbing wall was a challenge and the cave maze was scary! Everyone managed to get wet whilst constructing rafts and then canoeing on the lake - several managed to fall in the water completely - but it was OK as it was only knee deep. Other activities included an assault course and quad bikes as well as games of football and rounders with the Leaders. Food was provided, prepared by our own cook, who willingly made alternatives for children who didn't like what was on offer. Although there was not much room in the bedrooms, everyone eventually managed to get off to sleep - the second night was much quieter as the children were tired from all the activities, and some even had to be woken up the next morning in time to get breakfast. All in all, a very successful first visit. Even the weather was kind to us, after a week of rain, we had blue skies and sunshine. A really big thank you to all the members of staff who took part, whether they stayed overnight with the children, or came each day and stayed until late!
